I am the orchestra teacher at Berry Middle School. This is my ninth year here and I love it. The kids are awesome and I truly enjoy getting to share my love of music with my students. It is amazing to watch their journey from sixth to eight grade...and beyond into high school! I can not think of a more rewarding career.
My string career started in sixth grade, when I picked up my first violin. A short year later, I changed to bass because our orchestra needed a bass player and I wanted a new challenge. Music has been a huge part of my life since then. Orchestra and band kept me busy through high school and paid my way for college. I earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Centenary College of Louisiana, then jumped into teaching orchestra as soon as possible!
I have been married to my husband Stephen since 2005. We have one daughter who is our joy and inspiration. Other members of our family include the cats, Abby and Pip, and our dog Mozart. I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, surfing pinterest, and playing board games in my free time.
